Earlier, there was rumours that maverick director Gautham Menon was approached to play the baddie in Vineeth Srenivasan’s Jacobinte Swargarajyam but he couldn’t make it at that time.

The film went on to become a huge hit and Gautham was looking for a suitable project to make his debut in the Malayalam film industry. This time around, he has chosen the movie Naam, which will be helmed by the newbie Joshy Thomas.

According to reports, Gautham Menon will be seen playing himself in this flick. The film, touted to be a campus entertainer, will have Aditi Ravi, Gayathri Suresh, Renji Panicker, Rahul Madhav, and Tony Luke in the star cast.

Gautham Menon first appeared on the silver screens in an uncredited cameo in the Rajiv Menon directorial Minsara Kanavu. He has done small roles in his debut flick Minnale, Kaakha Kaakha, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Vaaranam Aayiram, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada, etc. His next release would be Enai Noki Paayum Thota, which is slated to hit the marquee on February next year. The film features Dhanush and Mega Akash in the lead roles.

Yet another film that Gautham is currently involved in is Dhruva Natchathiram which has Vikram playing the lead role. Expected to release in April next year, the film has Aishwarya Rajesh playing the female lead with Ritu Varma, Parthiban, Simran, and Raadhika Sarathkumar in pivotal roles.

Gautham Menon is an accomplished director having won several awards in his long career.
