Facepalm moment: Three celebrity reactions to Salman Khan that made us cringe

Written by : TNM Staff

Bollywood actor Salman Khan received much flak for saying that his physical training for ‘Sultan’ made him feel like a ‘raped woman’. As if that wasn’t bad enough, his fans actually went on to defend his remark; one of them even went on to say that since he did not really really rape a woman, it was okay.

We were still trying to recover from the trauma of this argument when we were hit by another wrecking ball of reactions defending Salman – and this time it came from the people in the film fraternity.

To start with, here’s what Pooja Bedi had to say to defend the actor –

Dear, Miss Bedi, there are many things wrong with your argument but here’s a first – saying ‘fat as an elephant’ is not even nearly the same as comparing your training to one of the most violent, traumatising, and damaging acts that a woman or anyone can go through.

Next, we have director Subhash Ghai, who said that Salman's comments were merely 'symbolic'.

In another inverview, he told the media - “I know one thing – Salman respects women like anything!”

Meanwhile,  Nagma Khan wasn’t far behind. In an interview to CNN-News 18, she defended Salman’s “humane side”, his good family as well as his obedience as a child and passed this incident off as a part of his generic tendency to land himself into controversies.
