Chiru’s 150th film’s shoot may be deferred, actor struggles to lose weight for role

Megastar Chiranjeevi has a difficult task ahead as he gets ready to commence shooting his much anticipated 150th film. Having not faced the arc lights for 8 years in a full-length role, the 60-year old is struggling to lose weight, and this has become an area of concern for the team for his upcoming project.

As per confidential sources, the regular shooting of the film, which was scheduled to start later this month, is likely to be pushed back by a month or two as Chiranjeevi is expected to lose another 10 kg.

As Chiru, as he’s fondly called by his fans, is having weight woes, the pressure to commence the project on time has fallen on director V.V Vinayak whose plan to release the film for Sankranti festival 2017 now looks doubtful. One of the reasons why Chiranjeevi is facing weight issues is because of his inability to work out aggressively, as he recently underwent a shoulder surgery and is not 100 percent fit. Hence, he’s finding it difficult to shed extra weight.

Meanwhile, the makers are busy finalizing the rest of the cast including the leading lady and the main antagonist. The film, a remake of AR Murugadoss-directed and Vijay-starrer Kaththi, will be produced by Ram Charan.
