Actress Amy Jackson, who has rejoined the sets of superstar Rajinikanth's Tamil science-fiction action drama "2.o" after a brief hiatus, will be shooting for some action sequences from Monday in Chennai.

"She joined the sets back on Saturday. In the latest schedule, the makers will shoot some action scenes featuring Amy Jackson and Rajinikanth. One of the most important portions of the film will be shot in the following weeks," a source told IANS.

An elated Amy shared the news on her twitter page, "Landed up in Chennai! Shooting my action packed scenes for @shankarshanmugh Robot 2.0."

Being helmed by S. Shankar, the film also stars Akshay Kumar as the antagonist, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain.

Tipped to be produced on a budget of Rs 350 crore, the film which is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions, will hit the screens in the summer of 2017.

Double Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman is composing the film's tunes.

Rajini's latest release- Kabali was a top grosser in the box office. Though the movie had been unlike any of Rajinikanth's recent fare, director Pa Ranjith and the actor got a lot of praise for the movie at the box-office.

Last week, the Rajini's son-in-law and actor Dhanush announced a film with actor Rajini and  Pa Ranjith. Dhanush announced on Twitter that Wunderbar productions, a movie production company run by Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya, also Rajinikanth's daughter, would produce the movie.

In a video tweet, Dhanush said that he was announcing his next project, while the video played the superstar title to the tune of Neruppu da, and the screen later read that it will be written and directed by Pa Ranjith. It also informs that this film will only be completed after "2.o". "2.o", the sequel to "Endhiran" is likely to be released only in 2017.
