Written by : Digital Native

Akhil Akkineni is desperately in need of a big hit with his previous films failing at the box office consecutively. While there is no announcement yet regarding his next project, reports have surfaced that two directors are in fray to direct the young star.

Sources in the know say that director Parasuram is developing a story for Akhil Akkineni and is waiting for producer Allu Aravind’s approval who will be bankrolling the project under his banner Geetha Arts. Director Parasuram is known for directing smash hits such as the recently released hit flick Geetha Govindam, Yuvatha, Solo, and Srirastu Subhamastu.

There is also another buzz that director Bhaskar is creating a story for Akhil Akkineni and may get a go ahead from the actor. This project is also most likely to be produced by Geetha Arts. Both these projects are in the initial stages and we need an official confirmation from the makers to know who will direct Akhil next.

The hero’s last release was Mr Majnu. The film got a mixed response at the box office but one thing that was noticeable in it was Akhil’s performance. There have been good reviews about his acting skills. Also, based on his performance, it looks like the young actor is now ready to try different roles.

Mr. Majnu was directed by Venky Atluri and bankrolled by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Nidhi Agarwal played the female lead in the film with the star cast also including Izabelle Leite, Naga Babu, Subbaraju, Rao Ramesh, Jayaprakash, Pavitra Lokesh, Sithara, Priyadarshi Pullikonda, Vidyullekha Raman and Ro Ashika. The rest of the technical crew of this Akhil Akkineni starrer included S Thaman for music, George C Williams for cinematography and Navin Nooli for editing.
