After Lingaa, Sonakshi might team up with Arvind Swami

Written by : TNM

Sonakshi Sinha’s southern sojourn started with Rajinikanth’s Lingaa, and she had made it very clear during the release of the film that it won’t be a one-off outing and she will eventually sign more projects.

Despite the debacle of Lingaa, it is being reported that she might have signed her second Tamil film opposite Arvind Swami. An official remake of last year’s Malayalam hit, Bhaskar the Rascal, Sonakshi will be reprising Nayanthara’s role from the original, provided she comes on board.

“The makers originally wanted Nayanthara, but due to her multiple commitments, she couldn’t accept the offer. Talks have been initiated with Sonakshi, who is yet to read the script. Director Siddique is very keen on roping in Sonakshi, but he isn’t sure whether she’d be interested in the project. The other option is Amala Paul, who is on a signing spree,” a source said, and added that Sonakshi’s high remuneration will be a major concern for producer Murugan.

Arvind Swami will be seen playing a widower, originally played by Mammootty. The regular shooting will commence from early January next year.
