Actor Bellamkonda Srinivas slammed for pic posing on elephant’s tusk

Written by : Digital Native

Actor Bellamkonda Srinivas posted a pic of himself perched on the tusk of an elephant and tweeted: “Shooting in #thailand with nature’s great masterpiece, an #elephant (sic).” This naturally did not go down too well with animal loving netizens. There were various comments about how the actor was insensitive towards the animal and how he might have hurt it for just a photo. Seemingly realising his mistake, Srinivas deleted the post immediately but the issue is still being discussed.

Incidentally, the actor’s latest release Saakshyam had run into trouble right before its release, as it was said that several animals and birds were used during the course of filmmaking because of which the censor board refused to certify it. However, the makers of the film made it clear to the board that the scenes in question were created using computer graphics and that no animals or birds were used or hurt as alleged. With this, the release woes of Saakshyam came to an end and it finally hit the marquee.

Saakshyam is a film about the hero seeking to avenge the death of his parents by punishing those responsible for it. The distribution of the prestigious Nizam area was lapped up by one of the most successful producers and distributors in Tollywood, Dil Raju. According to trade reports, the film’s distribution rights have been sold for a whopping Rs 7 crore.

Directed by Sriwass and produced by Abhishek Nama under the banner Abhishek Pictures, Saakshyam starred Bellamkonda Srinivas and Pooja Hegde as the lead pair. The film had Sarath Kumar, Meena, Jagapathi Babu, Ravi Kishan, Ashutosh Rana, Madhu Guruswamy, Vennela Kishore, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, Jayaprakash, Sameer and Pavithra Lokesh playing supporting roles. Harshavardhan Rameshwar composed music for this flick while Arthur A Wilson cranked the camera and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao edited it.

Bellamkonda Srinivas made his acting debut with Alludu Seenu in 2014 and has a couple of films lined up for release. His next release would be Nenu Hero scheduled for release on December 21 this year.
