The News Minute | November 15, 2014 | 8:10 pm ISTThe avengers franchise has recently come out with the trailer of its next installment titled “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and marvel fans are already going gaga. The movie which is releasing next year has triggered quite an amount of speculation in scientific circles about one question. Can the Hulk lift Thor’s hammer? The trailer shows “Tony stark” and “Captain America” fail at this task.According to a report in Wired, Marvel Comics tells us that Mjolnir is composed of “uru metal,” forged ages ago by the blacksmith Etri in the heart of a dying star.Scientists estimate that Mjolnir is likely taking some complex biological and psychological profile that calculates the “worthiness” of whoever is trying to lift the hammer through something a little ahead technologically, than fingerprint scanners. The report concludes that a unique property of uru metal is that, under the proper stimulus, it can emit large quantities of gravitons. Thus, when an “unworthy” person applies an upward force, the uru metal increases the hammer’s weight to exactly cancel this lift, and the hammer remains unmoved.
