Although the reasons behind the stallion's death hasn't been established yet, it is suspected that it died of a heart attack or internal bleeding, reports news.com.au . The report also quotes jockey Zac Purton as saying, "I knew he was in trouble when he didn't tow me into the race around halfway from home so I eased him down straight away, the horse’s welfare comes first".Another horse, Araldo, was euthanised when he broke his leg after crashing through a gate. These incidents have attracted criticisms from animal rights activists who question the nature of the game and its poor treatment of animals.
