Despite rumours, no political stand for Vijay in TN polls

Written by : TNM

Over the last few weeks, rumour mills were abuzz with news that Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay might lend his support to the DMK party in the forthcoming elections in Tamil Nadu, much to the surprise of his fans and his well-wishers in Kollywood.

When we contacted a source very close to the ‘Thuppakki’ star, the rumours were brushed aside and he subsequently added that the actor’s focus is completely on his new project which was launched last month.

“Contrary to rumours, he won’t be supporting any party this year. Moreover, he’s never been too keen about politics, let alone think of extending support to any party. He’s currently busy with work on his latest film with director Bharathan. Since the regular shoot has started earlier this week, he’d be fully committed to it for the next few weeks,” the source said.

Basking in the success of Theri, Vijay has also expressed interest to work with the film’s director Atlee again. This project, which will be jointly produced by Fox Star Studios, is most likely to roll from next year.
