Written by : PTI

The YSR Congress on Thursday submitted yet another petition to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker seeking disqualification of two more of its MLAs who jumped ship to the Telugu Desam Party last week.

YSRC MLA and Assembly Public Accounts Committee chairman B Rajendranath Reddy met Legislature Secretary (in charge) K Satyanarayana Rao and handed over the petition against MLAs M Ashok Reddy and Pothula Rama Rao of Prakasam district.

Both Ashok and Rama Rao defected to the TDP last week, joining 17 other YSRC MLAs who preceded them, taking the total to 19.

The YSRC had already submitted two petitions on separate occasions in the last couple of months seeking disqualification of 17 MLAs who previously defected to the ruling party.
