In what seemed to be a slip of the tongue, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said in the Assembly that the state ranked first in both corruption and development.

Addressing the Andhra Assembly on Monday, even as the YSRCP was raising a ruckus, Naidu was hitting back at party chief Jaganmohan Reddy.

"Whether it is corruption or development, Andhra Pradesh is number one," Naidu said amid a backdrop of slogan-shouting.

Earlier in the day, Jaganmohan Reddy lashed out at Naidu, and accused him of lying, and being "factually incorrect" in his claims.

Jagan said that several social welfare schemes that were promised by the TDP government were not implemented properly. 

According to reports, he also quoted a study of the National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) which stated that Andhra ranked first in the country, where corruption was concerned.

Hitting back, Naidu stated that the state ranked first in 'corruption and development.'

While the remark wasn't noticed immediately, due to the sloganeering in the Assembly, the YSRC has since been circulating a video of Naidu's statement.

Many supporters of the opposition party have also been sharing the video on social media.

The Assembly witnessed complete chaos on Monday after Jaganmohan's mike was switched off during his speech.

YSRCP legislators continued raising slogans and creating a ruckus through Naidu's response. 

Naidu also came down hard on the YSRCP, telling them that the MLAs should be 'ashamed' of having a leader who went to jail on corruption charges.

He also assured the Assembly that his government was determined on fulfilling all the promises they made.

He spoke about issues ranging from ‘Kapu’ reservations, to the Polavaram project.
