The construction of Andhra Pradesh's proposed capital Amaravati's official buildings will reportedly only start after a year.

Buildings like the Assembly, High Court, Secretariat and others have to be designed and planned, which will take at least minimum one year, an official involved in the construction told Deccan Chronicle.

The foundation stone of the capital is scheduled to be laid on October 22, following which the government will start working on the infrastructure of the region. 

The central government had earlier sanctioned Rs 1,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh for developing its capital. 

The money will be used to build the complex housing the Raj Bhavan, High Court, State Secretariat, Legislative Assembly and Council and other essential infrastructure.

In the first year after foundation, the government will take up the works like laying roads, underground power cables, drinking water facility, drainage and others, the DC report adds.

Earlier, Rs.4,403 crore was released to Andhra Pradesh in 2014-15, including funds for the capital.
