Chittoor mayor double murder hearing: Bomb blast in court premises, 1 severely injured

A bomb blast occurred in a Chittoor court on Thursday when the prime accused in the Chittoor mayor double murder case was brought for hearing.

According to a report in TNIE, the bomb is said to have been detonated in the protocol vehicle in the court premises. Balaji Naidu, a clerk of the Chittoor court was severely injured.

The bomb was placed in a TVS scooter in the parking area by unidentified individuals.

Three persons were injured, including one severely and several vehicles were also damaged.

The injured were rushed immediately to the Government hospital in Chittoor, reported Hansindia.

On November 17, 2015, the mayor of Chittoor and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) party leader Katari Anuradha and her husband died in an attack after unidentified people reportedly opened fire and stabbed the couple multiple times.
