Andhra man sentenced to life for raping minor daughter

A 48-year-old man was on Monday sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Ongole for raping his minor daughter.

First Additional District Judge Shaik Mohammed Ismail convicted B Peri Reddy and sentenced him to life imprisonment for raping his 12-year-old daughter.

The case came to light in October 20, 2015 when the 12-year-old victim's mother lodged a complaint with Parchur Police Station near Ongole.

According to the complaint, the survivor was sexually assaulted by her father over a period of 6 months early last year.

Reddy, a resident of Chintaguntavaripalem village in Prakasam district, was arrested and booked under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
