Three days after she went missing, Gaanam Nair has been found by Chennai police. She is safe.

For the last three days, social media has been flooded with posts on a 28-year-old model from Chennai. Gaanam Nair aka Jikki Padhoo was last seen on the morning of May 26, when she left her home in Virugambakkam. A 'missing person' case has now been registered by the KK Nagar police.

Gaanam, according to the police, stays with her aunt and cousins in Chennai. She describes herself as a photographer on her Facebook page and is also a fashion blogger. Relatives however told TNM, that she was a marketing manager at a salon.

Her mother is no more and her father resides in New Delhi.  She had told relatives that she was going to work on Friday morning and had left on her black Activa. She however did not reach her workplace, which is in Nungambakkam.

"She was supposed to go to office but we have learnt that she didn't take the usual route," an investigating officer told The News Minute. "We are in the process of examining CCTV footage for further clues," A police source said they were also investigating if there was a discord between her and family/friends.

Police sources also told TNM that they were looking at whether her Facebook account was still being operated.

Gaanam's family however did not agree with the investigating officer, They told The News Minute that she always took that route as it was the fastest to her workplace. "There were no problems at home," says Gaanam's 19-year-old cousin Priyanka. "She has been with us from when she 10 years old. She works in a salon in Nungambakkam as the marketing manager now. She always left the house at 11 am," she explains. Gaanam's friends and relatives have taken to social media to express their angst and worry. "If it was an accident, we would have known by now. We have called multiple hospitals and even visited some of them. We have no clue where she is," laments Priyanka.
