The Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) has been causing deaths in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. In 2025 alone five deaths have been reported in Andhra Pradesh, 17-18 GBS related deaths have been reported in Maharashtra. Both the states have also been witnessing an influx in the number of GBS cases being reported. What is GBS? Is it a contagious disease? How fatal is it and is there cause for concern?
