The Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) says Delhi Police has asked X to take down its account, the accounts of two other digital rights organisations, and several posts by other users. The requests reportedly cite criminal defamation and provisions of the IT Act and IT Rules.

The notices came after IFF and other organisations questioned a legal notice purportedly issued on behalf of the RSS. The authenticity of that notice has been disputed by RSS office-bearers.
