Launching a scathing attack on the grand alliance of Congress-TDP-TJS-CPI, Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao literally spat while commenting on the alliance for ‘shamelessly’ allying with Chandrababu. Not stopping there, he further went on to call Congress senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad a ‘ghulam’ (slave). Even Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu was not spared; KCR called him ‘Dhurmaargudu’ and ‘Telangana Drohi’.
Invoking the Telangana sentiment, the caretaker CM in his second public meeting in Nizamabad on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on Congress, TDP and TJS. Referring to Telangana Jana Samithi president Prof Kodandram, he said, “You have shamelessly allied with Chandrababu, who had arbitrarily shot down hundreds of Telangana activists. He is a Telangana Drohi. Had you begged me, I would have offered four seats. We fought for 14 years and won Telangana. I escaped death’s jaws and brought Telangana, and now you want to sell it to Amaravati?”
Continuing his attack, KCR, known for making distasteful comments, said that the Opposition has stooped low for “cheap politics and mortgaged Telangana’s pride”.
Attacking the Congress party for not having a decentralised leadership, he said that the Telangana Congress leaders have to seek permission from Delhi even to go to toilet.
“There are two types of ghulams —one at state-level and one at Delhi-level. That sort of ghulam is Ghulam Nabi Azad,” he remarked. “He said that TRS had no role in the formation of Telangana; then, ‘was is it your father’s role?’ There is no shame.”
During a recent meeting in Telangana, Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is in charge of Telangana Congress, claimed that it was the Congress that granted statehood to Telangana.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday evening, the grand alliance of the Congress-TDP-TJS-CPI made some progress with its election campaign. The party leaders from the alliance held a meeting in Hyderabad and chalked out the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) with objectives of the coalition.
According to reports, the party heads had unanimously agreed to elect Telangana Jana Samithi president, professor Kodandram Reddy as the CMP chief. Although a clarity on seat-sharing is yet to emerge, the alliance name was finalised as Telangana Parirakshana Vedika.
