The enumeration forms of 2.64 crore voters in Telangana have been digitised as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, according to State Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy.
The CEO’s office said on Tuesday, August 11, that 78.30% of the state’s 3.38 crore voters had their enumeration forms digitised. The update came a day after the door-to-door verification exercise by booth-level officers concluded on Monday.
Around 73.39 lakh enumeration forms, or 21.70% of the total, remain undigitised and have been classified as “uncollectable”.
Of these, 9.22 lakh voters have been marked as dead, while 11.25 lakh were classified as absent or untraceable. Another 45.18 lakh voters were found to have permanently shifted, while 6.70 lakh were marked as already enrolled.
The CEO’s office also placed 1.02 lakh voters under the “others” category, without specifying what this classification means.
Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri recorded the highest rate of digitisation in the state at 94.31%, while Hyderabad recorded the lowest at 58.89%.
Under the revised SIR schedule, the draft electoral rolls will be published on August 17. Voters will be able to file claims and objections between August 17 and September 16. The process of serving notices and disposing of claims and objections will continue until October 15.
The final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on October 19.
