The Telangana cabinet expansion, anticipated for several months now, would take place on June 8, Sunday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the names of three legislators set to take charge as Ministers – Chennur MLA Vivek Venkatswamy, Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman and Makthal MLA Vakiti Srihari.

Dornakal MLA Jatoth Ramachandru Naik will assume charge as Deputy Speaker in the Legislative Assembly, CM Revanth said.

While Vivek Venkatswamy belongs to the Mala Scheduled Caste community, Adluri Laxman is from the Madiga SC community. Vakiti Srihari is from the Mudiraj Backward Class community. Ramachandru Naik belongs to a Scheduled Tribe.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Raj Bhavan at noon on Sunday, June 8.

A total of six ministerial berths were vacant in the Cabinet since the Congress came to power in December 2023. Out of 17 berths in total, 11 had been appointed soon after the government was formed. There has been much competition and lobbying for the remaining six berths, of which three are now being filled.
