Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their disparaging remarks on the state.

Speaking in the Assembly , KCR recalled, “About granting statehood to Telangana, the Prime Minister has said ‘they have killed the mother to save the child’. He should stop making such remarks. On behalf of the people of Telangana, as the Chief Minister of Telangana, I urge you that.”

Taking on Amit Shah, he said, “Amit Shah had remarked that the formation of Telangana was a Dark Day. I appeal to him to change his attitude towards Telangana. This is a question of self-respect of the people of Telangana. We are not going to tolerate these comments, please withdraw these words. We fought for 60 years to get the separate state, nobody did us any favour.”

Further ridiculing the BJP's plans to form the government in Telangana, he said, “There is a saying in Telangana, ‘those who have nothing, will boast heavily’.”

Speaking about BJP’s communal politics, he said, “Those who have recently embraced religion will have more number of Namam (Tilak).”

The CM said that if the BJP comes to power, they will replace Aarogyasri with Ayushman Bharat Yojna, replace Rythu Bandhu with Kisan Samman. “Under Kisan Samman, the farmer gets only Rs 6,000 per year irrespective of how many acres a farmer has. Will you choose a scheme which gives Rs 10,000 per acre?”

He further attacked the BJP’s governance in other states and said that if the BJP’s governance was good enough, sarpanches from Maharashtra wouldn’t have met him appealing to contest on a TRS ticket.

KCR also faulted the BJP-led central government for allegedly denying funds to Telangana. “I have asked national projects for the state, but nothing was granted.”

KCR said that despite NITI Aayog recommendation of giving Rs 24,000 crore towards the state government’s Mission Bhagiratha, the Central government did not give the money.
