The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has refrained from serving a final demolition notice to the Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus, set up by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and the party’s floor leader, Akbaruddin Owaisi.

On Sunday, July 6, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath participated in an X Spaces audio live session, where he answered questions about parks, land disputes, lake beds, and encroachments across Hyderabad.

During the session, he revealed that, as per the preliminary investigation, the Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus falls within the full tank level (FTL) of Salkam Cheruvu in Chandrayangutta. He added that they are awaiting a final notification regarding its demolition.

Referring to the AIMIM, the Commissioner said, “We may not see the party, but we see the social dimension. The college has provided education to more than 10,000 Muslim students, from KG to PG. Many children study free of cost. That is why we are still awaiting the final notification.”

The Fatima Owaisi Educational Campus, run by the Salar-E-Millat Educational Trust, offers education from nursery up to the intermediate level.

The Owaisi family has been critical of HYDRAA’s demolition drives since the agency was established by the Congress government on July 19, 2024. Shortly after, in August 2024, AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi appealed to the Telangana government in the Assembly, following reports that HYDRAA planned to demolish the Fatima Owaisi College.

“Please attack me with swords and guns, but do not destroy the good work being done by me,” he had said.
