The Cyberabad police arrested three persons on Thursday, January 16, in connection with the murder of Divya Bindu and Ankith in Narsingi. The accused have been identified as Rahul Kumar Saket (26), Raj Kumar Saket (22), and Sukhendra Kumar Saket (30) – all natives of Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh.
According to Rajendra Nagar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ch. Srinivas, Divya had recently started working as a sex worker, while Ankith arranged clients for her. The primary accused, Rahul Kumar Saket, had engaged Divya’s services twice before and allegedly tried to film their encounters without her consent. When Divya objected, she reported the incident to Ankith, who then warned Rahul to desist.
This led to a heated dispute, and Rahul began harboring a grudge against both Divya and Ankith. He then conspired with his accomplices, Raj Kumar and Sukhendra, to kill them.
On January 11, Rahul contacted Ankith again and paid Rs 4,000 for Sukhendra to avail Divya’s services. While Sukhendra was with Divya, Rahul and Raj lured Ankith away and attacked him. They stabbed him and crushed his head with a boulder. Shortly after, they returned to where Divya was with Sukhendra and killed her in the same manner.
The three suspects fled to their native village the next morning, but police tracked them down. During their arrest, the mobile phones of both victims were recovered from the accused.
The accused have been presented in a local court to obtain transit warrants. Further investigations are underway, the DCP said.
