Telangana IT and Industries minister D Sridhar Babu on Tuesday, July 29 inaugurated a Biopharma Experience Centre in Hyderabad set up by Agilent Technologies. The centre intends to function as a stop gap for preparing high quality, life saving medicines.

The Biopharma Experience Centre offers solutions such as chromatography (a laboratory technique for the separation of a mixture into its components), mass spectrometry (a scientific technique used to measure and analyze the interaction between electromagnetic radiation and matter), cell analysis, and lab informatics.

These techniques intend to aid pharmaceutical companies in research and development (R&D) to simulate real lab environments, test for quality and compliance, and co-create market-ready solutions.

“Hyderabad has emerged as a complete healthcare and life sciences ecosystem—from drug discovery and clinical trials to world-class hospitals and affordable patient care. We are proud to host eight of the top ten global pharma companies, five of India’s leading healthcare chains, and over 230 United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA)-approved manufacturing facilities,” Telangana IT minister Sridhar Babu said at the launch.

Agilent Technologies generated revenue of 6.51 billion dollars in 2024 and employs approximately 18,000 people worldwide.
