The controversy surrounding the stampede at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad refuses to cease. On Sunday, December 22, protesters landed up outside Telugu superstar Allu Arjun’s house in Hyderabad, throwing tomatoes and breaking a few plant pots outside the house.

A group of around six protesters of the Osmania University carried out the protest, according to Jubilee Hills Station House Officer (SHO) K Venkateshwar Reddy. The protesters were seen holding placards, throwing tomatoes at the house in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad, breaking flower pots and demanding that the actor take care of the victim's family. They were detained by the Jubilee Hills police.

According to IANS, the group of protesters attempted to force entry into the actor's house, and demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore from the actor for the family of Revathi, the 35-year-old woman who died during a stampede at the cinema hall in Hyderabad where the actor arrived for the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, on December 4. Revathi’s son, Sritej, has since remained hospitalised in a critical condition.

Allu Arjun was booked for culpable homicide and other charges over the incident, and was arrested briefly on December 13.
