The News Minute | March 31, 2015 | 09:40 am ISTA committee formed by the Madras High Court has directed the police to register First information reports (FIR) against those violating the ban against unlicensed digital hoardings and banners in Tamil Nadu. The order came after social activist Traffic Ramaswamy filed a contempt application stating that inspire of instructions from the court, police officials had not complied with the orders. Responding in his counter-affidavit, Chennai Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kapur tendered an unconditional apology saying that he had highest respect for the court and had not disobeyed the court orders regarding banners in anyway, reported Deccan Chronicle. According to the report, the first bench including Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul had instructed the government to form a committee to keep a check on hoardings. The committee in turn told all heads of government bodies, and police officials to comply with the court orders saying that regulation of hoarding must be done. TweetFollow @thenewsminute
