Have you ever gone to a BATA showroom in your local neighbourhood and found shoes resembling designs that American footwear brand Crocs usually uses?
Compared to an original Croc shoe, the Indian BATA version would seem a lot lighter on the purse. But Croc doesn’t seem too happy with some companies for coming out with shoes similar to their design, reported Economic Times.
Crocs famous for its unique copyrighted designs – resembling Swiss cheese-style like holes in its shoes has found out that Bata has been lifting off its patented designs and has initiated legal action against them.
And its not just BATA in the line of fire. Four other companies, Coqui, Suncorp Exim, Relaxo and Bioworld have been named in cases filed in Delhi with Crocs seekin interim reliefs of injunction.
Here’s the original Crocs design.
And here’s our desi version brought to you by BATA available on Flipkart .
This one is by Coqui, a chinese footwear brand.
Both products were found to be permanently discontinued for sale online.
