A woman from Utah is suing Coffee giant Starbucks for more than $2 million after she claimed that her coffee had cleaning chemicals in it. Cheryl Kingery, filed a lawsuit which stated that her esophagus was severely damaged after drinking coffee from a Starbucks near Salt Lake City.

The lawsuit also claimed that she drank a specialty cleaning product for coffee equipment called Urnex. Cheryl is now allegedly suffering from Burning Mouth Syndrome, coupled with a loss of taste and numbness in lips and tongue. She has also claimed oral nerve damage.

Besides $500,000 in damages for suffering and distress, she is also demanding for $1.5 million to cover medical expenses, lost wages and other costs.

Starbucks has said that it is considering the claims and added that customer safety was its number one priority.
