Senior journalist Jehangir Pocha passed away this morning following a cardiac arrest. Pocha was the Editor-in-Chief of NewsX and the co-founder of IndiMedia Pvt Ltd which owns the channel NewsX.
Journalists have condoled his untimely death and called it a great loss to Indian journalism. Condolences came pouring in from friends and followers on Twitter.
Before founding IndiMedia, Jehangir Pocha had also worked with Business World (an ABP Publication) as its editor and served as an Asia correspondent from Beijing for the Boston Globe. He also worked in the IT industry in management positions. Pocha was an alumnus of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.
According to reports, the Broadcast Editors’ Association condoled Pocha’s death saying that it was a big loss to the world of TV journalism. “Jehangir was a dear colleague of ours and a guiding force in BEA’s activities,” the statement read.
