Years ago I met a child from Nepal, Jeet Bahadur who did not know where he was headed.— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) August 2, 2014I started showing my concern for Jeet Bahadur. Gradually, he took interest in academics, sports & even learnt Gujarati!— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) August 2, 2014Thankfully, we were able to locate his parents. I am glad that tomorrow the parents would be reunited with their son.— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) August 2, 2014The Hindustan Times carried an elaborate report on the reunion and described Jeet Bahadur as someone who left his home in Nawalparasi district of Nepal along with his elder brother Dasrath in 1998 to earn a living in India.Unable to cope with conditions, Bahadur decided to go back to Nepal, but ended up going to Ahmedabad."With the intention of returning home, he got into a train he hoped will take him to Gorakhpur, the town in Uttar Pradesh on the Indo-Nepal border. But instead, he boarded a wrong train that went to Ahmedabad", says the report. Bahadur is now pursuing an MBA in Ahmedabad.Jeet, who is like a family member to Modi, met his family during the PM’s Nepal visit.Though tweets from various government handles said Jeet Bahadur was being re-united with his family, by evening detractors put out Bahadur’s Facebook status from 2012, when he had met his family earlier.Family reunion for Jeet Bahadur in 2012. Pics of 2012 from his FaceBook account. Modi must refrain from faking stories. #shame pic.twitter.com/jPEHUA37LI— Vinod Mehta (@DrunkVinodMehta) August 3, 2014Puzzling abt Jeet Bahadur, PMs foster son:officials say PM met family, but helped them reunite some yrs ago.PIB says they reunited yesterday— Suhasini Haidar (@suhasinih) August 4, 2014Maybe the reunion after 16 years was just a PR exercise without getting the facts right. Reunion for the first or second time, Jeet Bahadur seems a happy man and was quoted as saying, "He (Modi) looked after me like his younger brother.... I don't think even my mother would have done so much for me."
