
The News Minute | March 18, 2015 | 10.41 am ISTA united opposition has continued its demand for a CBI inquiry into the death of IAS officer DK Ravi for the second day in the Karnataka Assembly, and has refused to allow any discussion on the budget. The demand continues on Wednesday after opposition leaders spent Tuesday night in the Vidhan Soudha. On Wednesday, BJP leaders Jagadish Shettar, JD (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy raised concerns about the ruling Congress government’s refusal to order a CBI inquiry. The people of the state are feel the need for a CBI inquiry. Why are you (government) reluctant to order a CBI inquiry?†Kumaraswamy said.When the government asked the opposition to allow the discussion on the budget, members said that they would not concede when an IAS officer had died under mysterious circumstances. The Speaker then adjourned the proceedings until the afternoon.Students, civil society groups, and other groups continued to protest and hold demonstrations and viigils in various parts of the state, expressing sadness over Ravi's death and also demanding a CBI inquiry.Tweet Follow @thenewsminute
