One in five children believe that Jesus Christ is a player for the Chelsea football team, according to a  recent survey.

A report in Mirror.Co.UK  states that 1,000 children were asked 'Who is Jesus Christ' as part of a survey for Brent Cross Shopping Centre. The multiple choice had the following options- a) A footballer for Chelsea b) Son of God c) TV presenter d) X Factor contestant or e) An astronaut.

20 percent of the respondents reportedly chose option 'a' which says that Jesus Christ is a footballer for Chelsea.

The report also states that 'a quarter of tech-mad, modern kids think the shepherds found the infant Jesus in his manger thanks to Google maps'. More than half of the respondents also believed that Christmas was Santa Claus' birthday, as they received presents on the day. More than one in 10 said that the Three Kings brought gifts of a wand, tiara and wings to celebrate his birth, states Mirror.

The Mirror quotes spokesperson Katie Tucker said: “With children looking forward to the festive season the whole year round, we wanted to ensure that the true meaning of celebration was understood, by proving to kids that Jesus Christ isn’t a footballer.”
