The CBI has filed two separate closure reports related to the death of Sushant Singh and has ruled out foul play. The first pertains to the abetment to suicide complaint filed by his father, KK singh, and the second by Rhea Chakraborty against Sushant's sisters.

The CBI submitted its closure report on KK Singh's complaint before a special court in Patna, while the second was submitted before a special court in Mumbai.

Sushant, 34, was found dead in his apartment in suburban Bandra in June 2020 following which the Mumbai Police registered an Accidental Death Report and recorded statements of over 50 people, including some of his family members and Bollywood personalities.

The late actor's father lodged a complaint with Patna Police in July of that year, accusing Rhea Chakraborty and her family of abetting Sushant's suicide and misappropriating his money.

However, the CBI In its closure reports, said that it did not find any evidence that anyone had abetted Sushant's suicide, clearing Rhea's and her family's names.

After the CBI filed its closure reports, Rhea's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde said in a statement that a false narrative had been fabricated and run on social media. He also said that the outcome of the investigation of the case restores faith in justice and the judiciary.

"The CBI has filed a closure report in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput after almost 4 years. We are grateful to the CBI for having thoroughly investigated every aspect of the case from all angles and closed the case. The amount of false narrative on social media and electronic media was uncalled for," Satish said.

Satish further said, "Due to the pandemic everyone was glued to the TV and social media in the absence of anything else happening in the country. Innocent people were hounded and paraded before the media and investigative authorities. I hope this does not repeat in any case."

He added, "I beseech the captains of media to reflect upon what they did. Rhea Chakraborty to undergo untold miseries and was behind bars for 27 days for no fault of hers until Justice Sarang V Kotwal released her on bail. I salute her and her family for having kept silent and yet suffered the inhuman treatment meted out to them."

Satish also said, They came to me through a close friend and defence personnel who are also close friends of mine with whom I studied in a Sainik School. Both Rhea's family and my team I were hounded and threatened with danger to our lives. I must say nothing deterred us from carrying out our legal duties."

Satish lastly added that as a lawyer, he is "proud to have defended a fauji (military) family pro-bono" and that this put an end to speculations about his fees.
