Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and relevant aviation bodies have issued a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), temporarily suspending all civil flight operations at 32 airports across northern and western India.

The suspension is in effect from May 9 to May 14, with flight operations expected to resume at 5.29 am on May 15. The NOTAMs cite “operational reasons” for the closure, though officials have not provided further details.

The affected airports lie in strategic locations close to India’s western and northern borders, many of which are dual-use facilities catering to both civilian and military aviation. Civil aviation authorities, however, have refrained from linking the move directly to any specific security threat.

The following 32 airports are affected by this NOTAM:

  1. Adhampur

  2. Ambala

  3. Amritsar

  4. Awantipur
