Hindu Sena now threatens to target five-star hotels in Delhi serving beef

It was just last week that the Hindu Sena created a full-fledged controversy after it complained to the Delhi police regarding the Kerala House serving beef in its canteen. And now the group's chief Vishu Gupta has threatened that it will target five star hotels in south and central Delhi that serve beef, The Times of India reported.

According to the report, Gupta cited a "sting" operation, which was shown on a TV channel, alleging that beef was being served in some restaurants in the city.

"I was detained by the police illegally for complaining about something that is banned in Delhi and we will not take any chances this time. The hotels will be raided and we will keep video evidence of it from the time we enter," the report quoted Gupta as saying.

The police will now monitor activities outside these restaurants.

Apart from the Hindu Sena, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also asked the government to stop the sale of beef in the city, failing which the organisation will "launch an agitation to protect the law", the report further states.

A letter,  jointly signed by Kshetriya Gau Raksha Pramukh Rashtra Prakash and VHP Delhi state joint secretary Ram Pal Singh Yadav, to lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung, said, "A little reference to any dictionary available clearly exposes the dubious arguments of those who are trying to mislead the masses (and show) that buffalo meat is also covered under the definition of beef."
