
The News Minute | March 30, 2015 | 9:55 am ISTThe Kashmir valley is in the grip of a flood again after floods occurred due to the water reaching alarming levels in the Jhelum.Reportedly, waterlogging has happened at several places near Srinagar and Sangam and other places in the valley and rescue operations are underway.If the water level in the river reportedly breaches 23 feet, massive rescue operations will need to be undertaken and evacuation of the areas surrounding the river will need to happen.There has been heavy rainfall reported since Saturday and although the rain has let up a bit, hundreds of families have been evacuated in anticipation of more precipitation by the end of the week.This instance of flooding is the second in a year after the devastating case in September 2014.Last few hours it has stopped raining in Kashmir, power supply down in most parts of Srinagar. #Kashmir pic.twitter.com/d2x2lt5raw— ANI (@ANI_news) March 30, 2015TweetFollow @thenewsminute
