If one has ever wondered whether animals can get drunk, here’s proof that at least some of them can. Apparently, the effects aren't all that different from what humans experience.

Goats belonging to a man in Gujarat got drunk on alcohol when government officials seized and destroyed unauthorized liquor in Mehsana district.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, cattle trader Ramesh Patni found that his goats had consumed liquor that had accumulated in puddles in an open farm after police destroyed bottles of seized alcohol by running a road-roller.

The goats, which stumbled upon the booze puddles, were apparently tipsy after consuming the liquid and actually fell unconscious. After they regained consciousness, Patni says he had to feed them buttermilk in order to help them out of their “hangover”.
