On Monday, a week-long-programme to commemorate the 1999 murder of its leader KT Jayakrishnan culminated in Kozhikode. Asianet reported that its team that had reached the place to cover the rally was threatened by BJP men. The channel's reporter claimed that BJP cadres had threatened him and his cameraperson at two different places and literally forced them to leave the event.The news channel’s car was parked on the road and the party men asked the driver to take the vehicle from the spot. They threatened to attack him and the vehicle if the car was not moved, Asianet reported.The camera man and the assistant had, by then, already entered the venue. Seeing them a group of party men threatened them and they had to come out of the venue without covering the event. The Kerala unit of the BJP, in October, had accused Asianet news of propagating news that was always ‘negative’ about the party and its leaders.
