Biswajeet Banerjee| The News Minute| July 22, 2014| 10.00 pm ISTActor and MP Hema Malini is missing- or at least that's what posters that have come up in her constituency say. Peeved over being 'ignored' by their newly elected BJP MP, people in Mathura have put up 'missing' posters of Bollywood star Hema Malini and had also burnt her effigy on NH-2, as she had visited this constituency only once after her victory in the Lok Sabha polls.Members of trade unions and NGOs along with locals raised anti-government slogans at the main Mathura market and took out a rally demanding whereabouts of their MP. They also went to district BJP office and gave a memorandum to BJP leaders. After winning the Lok Sabha polls from Mathura, the 'Dream Girl' visited her constituency just once, in the second week of June, that too for just few hours.'Everyone warned us that electing a Bollywood star as MP would be a wasteful exercise. Still people of Mathura showed faith on Hema. Smriti Irani is better than her. She is looking after a big ministry but still she takes out time to visit Amethi at least once a month,' said Tara Chand Goswami, president of labour trade union.Alok Verma, a protestor, said, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined work just a day after taking charge but our elected MP Hema Malini, is yet to take charge in Krishna Nagri. People are waiting for her. She had made big promises during election. They are waiting for MP to fulfill those promises.”BJP workers in Mathura have no idea of her whereabouts or when she will visit Mathura next. The 'Dream Girl' won by more than three lakh votes against her nearest competitor and RLD candidate, Jayant Chaudhary, in the Lok Sabha polls.
