Accenture has locked its X (formerly Twitter) account following a massive online campaign demanding accountability after a 34-year-old techie's suicide, which sparked widespread allegations against a company employee.
The social media platform was inundated with messages targeting the company after Atul Subhash's death, with users demanding action against his wife Nikita Singhania, an Accenture employee, whom he accused of severe domestic harassment in a detailed 90-minute video and 40-page note.
The trending hashtag #JusticeForAtul led to an unprecedented digital protest, forcing the company to restrict access to its social media profile to manage the escalating online backlash.
Atul had alleged demands of a Rs 3 crore divorce settlement and being prevented from seeing his child. The Marathahalli police have registered an FIR against his wife and three family members for abetment of suicide under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Atul's brother, Bikas Kumar, accused the judiciary of negligence, while the Ekam Nyay Foundation, a men's rights organization, has announced plans to approach the Supreme Court.
The company has not yet issued a formal statement addressing the allegations or the social media campaign.
