Solar scam accused Saritha S. Nair added a new twist to the case on Monday, by claiming that three pen drives allegedly seized from her when she was arrested in June 2013, were not produced in court by the police.

Saritha said this while deposing before the solar commission in Kochi.

Along with the pen drives, she claimed that six compact discs also, which were allegedly procured from her as evidence, were not produced in the court.

Saritha also accused the police of raiding her house and tampering with the evidence.

There is no trace of the three pen drives, and this is the second instance when a piece of evidence claimed by one of the accused has gone missing.

Recently, co-accused Biju Radhakrishnan led the police on a futile inter-state goose chase, in search of a purportedly incriminating CD containing the sexual exploits of CM Oommen Chandy with Saritha, which came to nought.

On Dec 2, Biju claimed to possess visual proof of six prominent politicians including Kerala CM Oommen Chandy, allegedly receiving sexual favours from Solar Scam co-accused Saritha S Nair.

Both the accused have been claiming that 'evidence' is hidden in the missing pen drives and CDs, but with no clarity on what that 'evidence' is, the case seems to be hitting a dead end.

The scam, which keeps getting murkier by the day, pertains to several investors being conned of their money worth crores, after being promised lucrative solar power projects.
