Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko’s father passes away in car accident

Actor Shine Tom Chacko sustained a fracture in his right arm in the accident, which took place near Palacode on the Dharmapuri National Highway in Tamil Nadu.

CP Chacko, father of Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, died in a road accident near Palacode on the Dharmapuri National Highway in Tamil Nadu on the morning of June 6, Friday. He was 70.

The accident occurred around 7 am near Palayur, when the car carrying the actor and his family reportedly rammed into a lorry ahead while en route to Bengaluru. According to Palacode police, CP Chacko died on the spot.

Shine Tom, his mother Maria Carmel (65), his brother, and the driver were also in the car. The actor sustained a fracture in his right arm and, along with his mother, has been admitted to the Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital. His brother and the driver also suffered injuries but are said to be in stable condition.

CP Chacko had recently spoken to the media in support of his son, who has been facing police investigation in a narcotics-related case.

Shine Tom began his career in the film industry as an assistant director before making his acting debut in 2011 with Gaddama. He has since appeared in several acclaimed Malayalam films, including Annayum Rasoolum, Kammatipaadam, Godha, Parava, Mayanadhi, Operation Java, and Kuruthi.
