Kerala: IB official's body found near railway tracks in Thiruvananthapuram

The body of an Intelligence Bureau official, posted at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport's immigration department, was found near the railway tracks in the Kerala capital on the morning of Monday, March 24, police said. According to reports, the IB official has been identified as Megha (24), a forensic science graduate who works at the immigration wing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.

Officials said that she had left for home after finishing her work early on Monday. However, she did not reach home and her body was later found near the Chakka railway tracks close to the airport.

Pettah Circle Inspector (CI) Premkumar had told OnManorama that preliminary investigations suggested that it was a case of suicide but that further investigations are underway.

Hailing from the state's Pathanamthitta district, she had started working as an IB officer a year back. While the police has registered a case of unnatural death and a probe has commenced to ascertain the facts. The body has been moved to the state-run Medical College hospital for a post-mortem examination, after which the body will be handed to her parents. She is survived by her parents Madusoodanan, retired principal of an ITI, and Nisha Chandran, a government employee.
