Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Sukanth Suresh has been terminated from service in connection with the suspicious death of his alleged girlfriend and colleague, a 24-year-old officer whose body was found near a railway track in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district on March 24, 2025.
Following woman's death, Sukanth went missing. According to the police, Sukanth was the last person she had contacted before her death. Along with Sukanth, his family is also absconding, police say. The police recently conducted a raid at his residence in Malappuram.
Police have registered a case against Sukanth for allegedly forging abortion documents of the victim. Sukanth is accused of exploiting the victim.
The victim's father, alleged that at the time of her death, his daughter had less than Rs 1,000 in her bank account, despite being employed with the Intelligence Bureau. He alleged that around Rs 3.5 lakh had been transferred from her account to Sukanth’s over a period of time.
He also confirmed that the two were in a relationship, having first met during a training camp in Jodhpur. She had later confided in her father about the relationship.
The victim's friends also allege that she was financially exploited by Sukanth as she could barely afford to buy food and manage other expenses.
