The museum police in Thiruvananthapuram have registered a case against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Malayalam actor G Krishnakumar, along with his family, in connection with the abduction and harassment. The complaint was lodged by three female employees working at the jewellery shop owned by Diya, the second daughter of Krishnakumar. Meanwhile, another case has been filed at the same police station against the female employees for allegedly swapping QR codes in the shop and defrauding Diya of over Rs 69 lakhs.
According to reports, the museum police has registered a First Information report (FIR) against both the parties.
Speaking to the media, Krishnakumar said he submitted all the evidence, which includes CCTV visuals and the other videos where these female employees admitted the crime to the police station earlier. “Since Diya is pregnant, she stopped going to the shop. The swapping occurred during that time. These girls claim to the customers that the QR code in the shop is corrupted and force the customers to send money to their account. We found out this once, Diys’s friend purchased an item from the shop,” he added.
Meanwhile, the female employees told the media that they have been working with ‘Oh by Ozy’ (name of the shop) for one year and that the money they have is given by Diya. “Customers send money via online payment, and we return the money to Diya as cash. We might receive around Rs 30 lakh. We returned the money to Diya on a weekly basis. So, we don’t have any evidence for that as it is given as cash,” one of the employees said. They also alleged that the issue occurred on May 29, and they resigned from her office a day later.
They also alleged that Krishnakumr, his wife and Diya insulted them on the basis of their caste. “We filed the case first on June 2. But the police registered the case at night,” an employee alleged.
“Apart from raising allegations these girls are not providing any evidence to the media or the police. We can address their allegations only if they provide evidence,” Diya told the media.
Speaking to the media Diya denied allegations of kidnapping and said they only travelled from her flat to her father’s office along with her sister Ahana, and mother. “Once we approached them with this issue, they admitted to the crime and promised to give the money back. Since we were talking in the premises of our flat, the society's' president asked us to move to some other place and we decided to go to my father’s office. Two of the employees travelled with my sister and one traveled with my mother. Their husbands followed us with their bikes” Diya added.
