Six members of a family including three children, were killed on the morning of Saturday, December 21, when a container truck overturned onto their SUV near Bengaluru’s Nelamangala, on the National Highway 48.
The deceased have been identified as Chandrayagappa Gaul (48), Gaurabai (42), Vijayalakshmi (36), Jaan (16), Deeksha (12), and Arya (6). The family was traveling to Vijayapura when the fatal accident occurred.
The truck, carrying a heavy cargo container, collided with a milk tanker belonging to KMF (Nandini) while both vehicles were traveling towards Tumakuru. The collision caused the container truck to topple onto the SUV moving alongside, crushing all six occupants inside, officials said.
The accident took place at around 11 am, according to preliminary reports. Emergency services rushed to the scene, cleared the debris, and sent the bodies for postmortem examination.
