
Karnataka Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Madhugiri Ramachandrappa was arrested and suspended on Friday, January 3, after an alleged video of him sexually harassing a woman who approached him with a complaint emerged on social media.
The alleged incident occurred on Thursday, when the woman visited Ramachandrappa's office in Tumakuru to report a land dispute. According to reports, Ramachandrappa took her to the bathroom, misbehaved with her, and sexually harassed her.
The alleged 15 second video clip of the incident is believed to be captured using a mobile phone placed on the bathroom window.
The officer has been booked under Sections 68 (sexual intercourse by a person in authority), 75 (sexual harassment), and 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. An investigation into the case has been launched, and an officer of the Additional Superintendent rank will lead it.
