Karnataka BJP chief BY Vijayendra accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of misusing police authority to silence a complainant in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. This statement follows a High Court stay on the FIR against Snehamayi Krishna, the complainant in the case.

Vijayendra alleged that Siddaramaiah, knowing the allegations against him might be true, has consistently used his power to hinder investigations. He claimed that the government, failing to pressure Krishna, resorted to using police force to silence him. The BJP leader urged the Governor to take action against officials allegedly following the Chief Minister's orders.

Vijayendra also accused Siddaramaiah of influencing the Lokayukta and expressed concern over the Chief Minister's alleged attempts to silence Krishna, including filing a false complaint and arresting him. He welcomed the High Court's stay order against the FIR, which he called a "conspiracy."

Vijayendra further claimed that the Chief Minister is visibly disturbed as the petition seeking a CBI probe in the High Court reaches its final stage.

The FIR against Krishna, filed based on a complaint by Chamundeshwari Temple Authority Secretary, MJ Roopa, accused Krishna of obstructing duty. Krishna had previously alleged Roopa's involvement in the sale of sarees gifted to Goddess Chamundeshwari.

The MUDA case involves 14 sites allegedly allotted illegally to Siddaramaiah's family. The sites were later returned. The case is currently being investigated by the Karnataka Lokayukta and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Krishna had petitioned for a CBI probe into the case, which is pending in the High Court.
