A Delhi-bound Air India flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on January 5 after one of its engines shut down mid-air due to a technical issue. The Airbus A320 aircraft, operating as flight AI 2820, experienced engine failure shortly after takeoff, prompting the pilot to return to Bengaluru and land under full emergency conditions.

All passengers on board were reported safe, and no injuries occurred during the incident.

The flight was originally scheduled to depart Bengaluru at 5.45 PM but was delayed and took off at 7.09 PM. The engine issue arose mid-air, requiring the aircraft to circle before landing back at KIA at 8.11 PM.

Following extensive technical checks, the flight departed again at 11.47 PM and successfully reached its destination in Delhi at 2.02 AM on January 6.
